OF MICE OR MEN… MOUSE
What Happens If You Get Mice
Whether you raising a family or poultry for the market, your backyard is no place for rats and mice. Rodents bring so many things into your living area – and none of them are good. Good pest control in Salt Lake City, Orem, St. George & the Valleys surrounding them, must include an answer for these rodents.
They often appear in the fall, when their external food sources are depleted by the weather, or spring as they multiply. They emerge from the fields, where they live in burrows, to forage and feed around buildings. Mice will establish colonies within buildings and might never venture outside again.
Rodents are responsible for more than a quarter of all farm fires of unknown origin, but the main risk from infestations is food contamination and disease exposure.
The Damage A Single Mouse Can Do
A single mouse can produce more than 80 droppings per day and more than a quart of urine per year. A variety of human and livestock diseases are spread through contact with rodent waste, include cryptosporidiosis, toxoplasmosis, leptospirosis, brucellosis, and salmonellosis.
Because rodents are mainly nocturnal feeders, it’s easy to seriously underestimate their numbers. Repair doors and floors to help restrict access, as mice can squeeze through an opening the size of a person’s little finger. Rodents can also chew an entry point through the wood or drywall.
